References desert travel

Here I would like to share the references and feedback from my customers.
Together with my team in the Sahara, we offer individually designed desert trips. Sometimes as a caravan, sometimes in a place with excursions, sometimes through Morocco, the Atlas, the coast and much more. My desert journeys are based on leading you to your origins and connecting you with your liveliness and joy of life. I combine dromedary trekking, the dance into femininity, Tai Chi, yoga, vision quests, music and deep, open conversations.

My travels are authentic and my special connection with the nomads opens you up to this world and this journey in particular. You benefit from the wisdom and art of living of the nomads, as well as my life experiences and inexhaustible treasures from over 30 years of practice as a dancer and body worker.

Ever since I first set foot in the desert in 1990, I felt that I belonged here.
That was in Sinai.
Year after year I was drawn there and I couldn't get enough of the simplicity, the beauty and the nomadism. Today I'm traveling to the Sahara in Morocco
and working with the best nomad team there.

They are my friends who join me on wonderful adventures in the desert.

The journey into my heart.

The day before departure I dreamed that this desert journey would take me straight to my heart space. Back to myself, back to this love of life that changes everything and back to the love of life that has actually accompanied me since this journey. This is a very personal report because that is exactly where this journey can take you - into an encounter with yourself.

Marrakesh, the journey across the Atlas to the end of the road and then on foot out into the Sahara. Every single station impressed and touched me. The people; Nora with her lively femininity, her laughter, her presence, the team of nomads with their attentiveness, their connection to the desert and their humanity as well as the encounters with a wide variety of women and the most beautiful dromedaries helped shape the adventure and some of them touched my heart deeply. Three words for this journey: moving, life-changing, grateful.

See you 😉 and warmest regards

Tina Maria, Desert Trip, March 2024

We celebrated life by dancing and singing by the fire.

Parts of me are still in the desert and I am very grateful to you for giving me the opportunity to make this journey.  As I already wrote on Insta, it was a journey straight to the heart for me. On the last day of our trip I wrote in the desert, “We immersed ourselves in life itself, lost ourselves in the storm, wept for the pain of many lives and let ourselves be carried away by the wind. We celebrated life by dancing and singing by the fire. I met myself, became close to myself again and I learned a lot about myself.  A journey straight into the heart, a journey straight into life." A bit pathetic 😂😂, but those were my feelings and even today, with a little more distance, I can't find more appropriate words.

I would be happy to see you again soon! A warm hug, you wonderful one! 💛

While dancing I felt the woman in me again.

I was allowed to be part of this special desert trip. The desert has been calling me for a long time and what a gift that I could now hike through it with such nice women. I always felt well protected by the nomads despite the sandstorm, the serenity of the dromedaries passed on to me and rocking on the backs of these gentle animals made me dream of 1001 Nights. While dancing I felt the woman in me again. The desert awakened great gratitude for everything in me. Thank you Nora – it was beautiful!

Unique nature, starry sky, drumming and laughter around the evening campfire

Dear Nora, I have only been back from the desert in Marrakech for 2 days - (trip from March 25th to April 4th, 2024) - and I already feel the longing to go back to the desert, the expanse, the silence - for the wonderful, wise, happy, warm nomads, the calming camels - what a journey and what a big step towards myself.
Thank you Nora, your wonderful, professional and infectious way
of leading us in the dance of Tai Chi or Qigong.
And all of this in unique nature, starry skies, drumming and laughter around the evening campfire...
Sukran, you, your greatest team in the world and the great women in this travel group! I will come back.

Tai Chi Desert Retreat

Fascinating starry sky and very special people

Hello Nora,
thank you very much for allowing me to be part of this great troupe of women, no, queens. You didn't promise too much when you promised us daily culinary delights, breathtaking landscapes, magical nights, a fascinating starry sky and very special people. Starting with you, a warm and friendly bon vivant, and continuing with our desert boys, who pampered us every day with delicious food, attention, music and hikes through beautiful nature. The sand bathing and the hammam were incredible...I really felt like a queen. Our daily little exercises, the intensive conversations and the opportunity to finally focus on ourselves in peace have made these days so incredibly valuable for me.

I can only recommend this (r)time out... go new ways, get out of your own comfort zone, get to know new people, broaden your perspective and ultimately a journey to yourself, what more could a woman want!
Nora, stay as you are and take good care of yourself.

Many kind regards, Astrid (Tai Chi desert retreat February 2024)

It was a fantastic time in “nothing”. The peace, the space, the essentials... crazy.

Since arriving in Marrakesh, I have always had a good feeling and complete confidence in the team's “doing” and knew that everything would be great. The journey into the desert was like a journey into nowhere. The storm slowly subsided and a few hours after arriving at camp the sky was blue. The team, the boys, set up a great camp so that we had basically arrived at our home for the next few days.

It was a fantastic time in “nothing”. The peace, the space, the essentials... crazy.

We had great, profound and inspiring conversations, laughed a lot and heartily, and I felt incredibly comfortable.
Through the exercises and tips, my body completely relaxed. The meals (we were cooked for morning, lunch and evening) were excellent. The “perfect dinner in the dessert” every day. Four hard-working nomads and five dromedaries lived with us in the camp. I wouldn't have wanted to miss anyone. It was so great to watch the four-legged friends wake up at sunrise, climb onto the dune and watch the sunrise. Almost like me ;-). The boys and Nora took us on fantastic trips combined with exercises and surprised us with sand bathing and a steam bath. Yes, really awesome! Nightly, indescribable starry sky.
I can't put it into words, when I woke up at night and looked at the sky, I was so happy to be where I was.

The time in the desert gave me so much.
I am grateful that Nora and all the other lovely, valuable people shared the great time with me. An experience that is priceless. I have recharged myself, am full of positive energy, with new views and self-image.

“CHOUKRAN my loves!” Kathy (Tai Chi desert retreat February 2024)

3 days Marrakech, 6 days desert, = 9 days experience, encounter, adventure, nature

You can't describe it - you have to experience it ❤️ Nora is just great, her crew - lovely nomads (and camels 😉)

Tai Chi, delicious food, campfire romance, sunset and sunrise, gigantic starry sky, incredible silence and endless space...

All inclusive!
Unreservedly recommended 🤩

Best regards

Evy

Caravan desert travel

An unforgettable, wonderful time, if you hear the call of the desert, then you've come to the right place with Nora ❣️
Wonderful from the first step into the desert.
I also felt right at home in the group and wouldn't have given up on the great women around me for any price in the world.

Nora, we women, our nomads and also the dromedaries formed a small, wonderful unit.
I felt protected and cared for. The very special moments for me were the moments when I fell asleep peacefully at night all alone under the open sky.
The community of other women was a huge enrichment for me. There were several beautiful moments in two conversations or in the whole group. The community with the nomads was on a very special level. I felt really protected and cared for by her. The time spent together by the fire in the evening was another highlight.

Your energy is so incredible and it just fit! What also made this trip was how you treated us, talked to us and held everything together. And I will also continue dancing. I especially liked the African dance.

My love for the desert has now been completely awakened and I'm sure it won't be long before I go to one of the deserts again.

Monica, desert trip “Longing for Origins” November 2023

I think back with joy on the trip, on the gift of time to 'just be', without a program, without the Internet, I feel the vastness and peace of the desert as if it had become a part of me. I can fall back on it at any time. I discovered what strengths I have within me and that strengthens me in my everyday life. The desert has an effect - but you only notice that once you've been there and allowed yourself to be moved.

I can wholeheartedly recommend that you put yourself in Nora's and the nomads' care.
If you have an issue that you've been wanting to solve for a long time - it resolves itself without you noticing or having any influence on it.

That was the strongest experience for me, that the desert had an effect on me and changed me - without my active or conscious intervention. And I am very grateful for that.

After the trip, at first I was just happy to be back home in my familiar surroundings. An environment that I know and can control to some extent. But then I dreamed about the desert every night. From the space and the peace and I felt how things were falling into place within me without me noticing. The colors of the desert, the direct contact with nature, this awareness of how nature is stronger than us and how we can surrender ourselves humbly and gratefully - that showed me how much I take for granted here in my world. That gave me a lot of gratitude.

The best thing for me was walking through the desert with the nomads. To adapt to their pace and to experience their natural interaction with nature and animals. They were always calm, balanced and happy. I felt absolutely safe with and with them.

Nora's personal gift to me was that she gave me back the feeling of a woman's body. Watching her move her body into individual parts while dancing. (And realizing that I have breasts that can be moved individually).

Miriam, desert journey “Longing for Origins” November 2023

Dear Nora,

When I found you on Instagram with your desert trip, I immediately knew that's what I wanted to do: Back to the origins - into femininity.

A wonderful journey to myself! Your Tai Chi lessons prepared me well for the day and I will incorporate it into my daily life. It was very good for me physically and gave me clarity and concentration. Our dance in the afternoon always had something liberating. It's so beautiful to watch you dance and follow your aesthetic movements.

The exchange with 12 interesting women really rounded the whole thing off. I felt extremely well during the trip; I felt that running in the desert, the silence and the lively conversations with like-minded women were a gift. A solidarity between women and also the nomads who accompanied us. A big compliment to the nomads who lovingly looked after us from early morning to evening with breakfast, lunch, dinner and tea ceremonies.

A very special thank you to you, dear Nora, for your always empathetic conversations, your open ear and your constant attention.

I can recommend it to every woman - a journey to yourself and to find yourself again in the silence of the desert.

Lisa, desert trip “Longing for Origins” November 2023

The travel description spoke to me directly and I knew immediately that I wanted to take part. No comparison offers, no need to think too hard.

The trip rewarded me several times with borderline experiences, which, in the safety of the women's group and under the protection of the
nomads, I found to be enriching and not frightening or life-threatening.
This trip showed me the wonders of the desert as well as female connection. I am happy for every life story that was shared with me.

I wouldn't miss the experiences and the trip for anything in the world.
Nicole, desert journey longing for origins November 2023

So many people ask me the question: “And Heike, how was it?”
And I'm at a loss for words. There were moments when I just couldn't believe it, this beauty, this silence, this being with me, the community of the group. No distractions, pure nothing, no toilet, no shower, no cell phone, no phone calls, it was just me and the group, the nomads and the dromedaries. There was a sandstorm and a lot of being together.

I'm still not really here or there anymore. It still has an impact, it was the most challenging trip I have taken so far. And so beautiful and so special, and sometimes I reached my limits. A rollercoaster of emotions and an acknowledgment of what is right now.

Every day we were treated like a queen by the nomads.
They cooked for us, looked after us, and played traditional music for us in the evenings. Nora Curcio gave us the space we needed, Tai Chi in the morning, dance in the evening.

And talk a lot, laugh a lot and feel a lot.

Heike Eichhorn, desert journey longing for origins November 2023

I want to thank you so much for pulling me out of my comfort zone. I enjoyed the time extremely. Being together and everything around it. Maybe I'll continue belly dancing. It was really really great and I thank you very much for it.

Yvonne Schär, desert journey longing for origins November 2023

Thank you for being able to hold the space in the desert so well. I'm taking a lot home with me! What touched me deeply was that you reminded me of the power of women. This common, rustic something that connects us women. And if we use it more, it makes life more beautiful. I want to go there more. Also feeling the group and Mother Earth. And on a personal note, I also realize that exercise can perhaps also bring me joy.

Doris Eggel, desert journey longing for origins 2023

Thank you again for this trip! What you gave me is actually about femininity. I was super scared of that! Thanks!

Claudia, desert journey longing for origins November 2023

It was a great week that pushed me to my limits and beyond!

Thank you for showing me the vastness of the desert and reconnecting in the mental and emotional realm. It's also so much fun watching you dance. That's really beautiful! And I appreciate that you are such a good teacher who criticizes when something is wrong. You look closely and don't ignore it. I really appreciate that about you. All in such a pleasant way. Your touch at the end of the relaxation was special. Thanks!

Kathrin, desert journey longing for origins, November 2023

This time with you was wonderful!
My greatest gift from you was that everything is there in me and if you work on yourself, it can be revived. I saw from you what it looks like when you keep moving. Thank you for everything!

Marion Zimmermann, desert journey longing for origins, November 2023

The desert journey with Nora took me a little further to myself. The desert with its pure, untouched nature, the nomads as companions, protectors and providers, led me back to my origins: into my heart. In the protected space of the women in the group and the nomads, who deal with everything so naturally and lovingly, my heart opened completely by itself. Thank you, dear Nora, for this wonderful, deep experience!

Beate Buchelt, Desert Rice Longing for Origins March 2023

with 11 women,  4 Bedouins and 10 camels.  An experience at the age of 66 that I would like to pass on to my grandchildren. 'Cool' was one reaction from my 7 year old granddaughter.

The vastness and tranquility of the desert called to me. Clear your head, leave everyday life behind for a few days, expose yourself to nature and trust in what may come. Recognize the emerging resistance and let it go straight away, inshallah.

The few tasks, such as unpacking/packing the backpack or preparing the bed for the night, serve the adventure of being able to be in the here and now. This also includes the tireless care of the Bedouins who accompany us. Surrendering to your experience and skill is an easy exercise. Despite their young age, they know how to create unity with one another with seemingly little communication. Your happy disposition has an impact on our group. Despite the profound conversations between each other, there is also a lot to laugh about. The most amazing thing for me were the daily delicacies, which just amazed me. You can also cook and bake bread excellently over a fire in the desert if you have camels to carry everything with you and hard-working Bedouins.

Desert, a land of hardships and wonderful people. May this nature remain with us for a long time. A beautiful, deep experience. Many thanks to Nora, our tour guide, who also selected this crew and accompanied us safely through the desert.

Angelika Schützinger, desert journey longing for origins, March 2023

I am very grateful that I was able to be part of this unforgettable desert experience with Nora!
The experience of the indescribable nature, the connection with the animals that accompanied us and - in the truest sense of the word - carried us, the lively contact with the nomads made this trip an extraordinary memory.
For me personally, it was very touching to feel my own limits (through the confrontation with the sandstorm - i.e. with the indomitability of nature) and yet trust both in the care of our desert men and in the fact that “every storm passes”...

I will definitely benefit from this for a long time! THANKS!
