With the caravan through the desert: pure lust and femininity

Blog post about a desert trip with women: with the caravan through the desert to pure lust for life and femininity. With Nora Curcio
Design trips for women: longing for origin

Swinging with daily culinary delights, hips swinging, laughing, dancing, drumming and singing through sandstorms, being touched by breathtaking landscapes, warmth of the heart and experiencing magical nights in the new moon of a very special time. That was our desert time. A journey, called: longing for origin.

What happens when a caravan of 11 women, 5 nomads and 10 dromedare sets off through the desert? Adventure! We still don't know where this trip is going. We have pictures in my head, ideas about what could come to us and learn very quickly on this trip that things always come differently than you think. And that's a good thing!

In the desert we experience how powerful nature is and that you can humble your given time.
The ego will be loud here and there. Whether it is the sandstorms instead of the bright blue "presented" postcard heaven, your own health, which suddenly stands in the way, the schedules that cannot be observed, my own impatience, etc.

My leadership is intuitive and full of heart. Together with my partner, a wise desert and human leader who recognizes and sees almost every problem of a person, he supports my women's work as a man in the background in a loving and smart way. And thanks to the bubbling and almost childish joie de vivre of the nomads, this is the best learning for our mirror neurons! We become like children again, dance and play at the fire, and we laugh as much as it has not been for ages. The hearts are open, the inner voice becomes loud and finds space to be heard here. In addition to the joy, tears can also flow, old triggers are allowed to appear and we come into contact with our compassionate side and support each other in our female strength.

A caravan of love.

And what could be better for a fulfilling life than to dive into the joie de vivre?

Streets of Marrakech
design
Marrakech Riad

I've been to Marrakech a few days earlier and enjoy the hustle and bustle of the medina. An explosion of liveliness, colorful goods, arranged without a system, many nice conversations on the streets, and to sell charming attempts from dealers. And yes, I buy! It's nice that once you bought something or "given". The next day, a chair with tea is ready for me and I can relax.

I eat my first pastilla , I joy with joy in the labyrinth of the medina and like to let me explain the way or accompany me to the next destination. Because I have a really bad sense of orientation. This also gets to feel my group of women, which I promptly lead on the way from the riad to the bus in the wrong direction through Marrakech.
But my inner compass is well -oriented for that! In the end, a participant thanked me for my "chaotic creative leadership" and what a "cool sock" I was. Yes, it doesn't get me much out of rest and I still learn a lot about myself here. The old ego is sometimes quite loud.

Mindfulness and presence in the silence of the desert landscape support all of these processes and it becomes visible what is still sore and wants to be looked at. Then healing begins. That is what we, which are attracted by the desert, all want to consciously or unconsciously. We want to heal.

But now it goes out of the hustle and bustle!
The next morning we sit in a comfortable bus and we're off!

Yalla!

8 hours drive over the Atlas are ahead of us!

In the middle of this small town is a house in the heart of the city, a riad that feels like at home.
Omar, the owner always seems to attract the right people and I have made some acquaintances with travelers and locals since then. It was also always my refuge when my soul wanted to warm up. So I clearly opted for this place. Contrary to the tourist places. For me, authenticity and warmth are the most important pioneers! This house is warm, small, magical and fine.

A very tasty couscous from Moroccan cuisine awaits us.
The first plan to go into the shop afterwards becomes a nation, since Omar fetches the fabric bales of the neighboring dealer after the meal and specially cut the towels for each individual on site and teaches the ladies how to wrap a turban.

At the end of the trip, of course, everyone can wrap their turban!

We walk along the street through the town that feels like in a Western film. Dusty streets, garbage whirls a little in the air (at sandstorm it is unfortunately quickly spread across the entire street). Hardly anyone is on the way. In a 15 -minute walk we are on the square with the dromedars and the other nomads. The excitement increases so gradually. We watch the packing of the dromedare and go. We alternate with riding. We gradually leave civilization. A dog follows us, a few cats look tired from their corners.

Today is divided into two sections:
First we come to a nice place for lunch and to rest. What is conjured up from the kitchen tent every day is actually a gourmet meal. I personally have never eaten so tastefully in the desert.
They are delicacies of the extra class and is prepared with so much love!

Rested after lunch, everything is saddled back onto the dromedare and it goes deeper into the desert for a few hours. The first day is the one we go the most. I already have the impression that the still very nice weather changes. And when I asked if that happens, I get the answer: Inschallah. Which means as much as: so God wants. (For me that usually means: let's hope it is in God's hand). And that's how it is! We humans can only adapt and the faster we can handle it, the easier our life will be. The fact that nature is more powerful than our little will is so noticeable in the desert. We learn to be humble as a person.

In the evening, after we have gone two stages, we arrive quite tired.
I am glad that I still have some time to stretch and extend me together with part of the group.
The other part is somewhere exhausted between the dunes and enjoys the evening mood.

Then it goes completely, very fixed!

The sun goes down and it quickly gets dark. Everyone needs a tent quickly and has to choose their sleeping place. Apparently there are not enough tents? At least I hear that from afar from afar. I don't think so, but I therefore do without my single tent and get up and go into the big tent.
And wait. Don't mix me in. I hadn't even noticed the whole new situation outside: an emerging sandstorm made it difficult to build up the tents and a tent even flew away!
"Our men" help to find space and build. It is your job. And that is why I don't interfere and do not try to take responsibility. The former organizer Nora is allowed to leave the field to others (men).
Gradually everyone comes into the big tent, where we are waiting for our meal in the sandstorm and start our introductory round. Such a violent wind rages outside and so it is all the more surprising that the food is simply unbeatable again. From now on, I don't have to repeat that. Because this applies to all the food here in the desert! Prepared even in the sandstorm! How? This is inexplicable for us. And it is so tasty that almost all vegetarians enjoy meat exceptionally.

Breakfast

The morning mood in the desert is cold and the warming sun rays that open the day are happy to look forward to the new day. The storm is over and a covered breakfast carpet is waiting outside with coffee, tea, bread, cheese, jam and honey. The sun shines pleasantly. But not long. Because when we open, we can get to know the moody side of the desert again. The sandstorm is getting stronger and a few women are bad on foot today and cannot walk because they are sick. With the hip, with the knee and with a cold. We move on in step with the dromedars and cloth-covered faces. I run in the back and have to be careful not to lose the connection to the group. I make little films. Suddenly I no longer see the caravan. They have disappeared on the horizon in the sand fog. Then I see Mustafa light up with his red cloth.

There is always someone who is waiting for you.

I wish everyone to experience such a sandstorm. He makes us humble. I love this feeling and the changed colors. Move together. That together "go through the storm". That is travel. The path is always a symbol of life. It is like it is. Not every day is a sunny day. And sometimes you have to go through something, leave the comfort zone and endure something. A 7 meter long cloth is quite helpful for sandstorms.

Just as life continues, our caravan continues to the next place, where everything is unpacked again and later packed up again.

This time we come to a place and are lucky to watch a camel flock that pulls through the landscape with her boys. So many impressions in large and small that touch the heart!
Suddenly I see a nomad dressed in the bright pink colors with a few dromedars.
This picture is so awesome! I like that! Then a man unexpectedly appears out of nowhere, who enjoys colorful clothing and his gait tells me how much he enjoys! It looks wonderful! We women could learn that when observing: enjoying our hip swung while walking, the joy of going through life colorful and visible. Just enjoy. Every moment.

With my lessons I wait for my dear women until they return from the herd to practice dancing into femininity with them. We are in a circle and practice pelvic groups, aft circles, shops and the lustful establishment of a queen. With beautiful music from the box.
The nomads sit a little away in a circle and watch us. And again the dromedars are added to our women's group with trippil steps. I have to laugh so much. The animals and we.
In any case, we all have a lot of fun!

Dance in femininity in the Sahara
Open the field for women in their original strength
Let the queen wake up in the body.
The game with the hips

It is in us that we would be happy to make ideas, come up with programs and of course would also like to be implemented and fulfilled. And if this does not happen, then we immediately feel in the deficiency, which says: I imagined it differently! Why don't I get what I imagined?

That's exactly what I love on the desert!
Because the desert constantly shows us that it turns differently than we think! I really get into my strength! I am equipped with Sicilian roots that can handle it very well. To improvise has always been one of my strengths and also my drive.

Everything according to plan is boring. The surprise of the unexpected power alive.

I start with an idea and let myself be guided without wanting to hold on and have to hold on! Of course I have many training courses and over 30 years of experience as a theater woman, dancer, teacher and organizer of festivals, concerts and plays. Of course, it needs a plan!
I use programs from a wide variety of ways from the fitting.
But in the desert I let myself be guided and take what comes and feel what fits.

Nature leads us and not we, nature!

My type of leadership may seem to be haphazard. My fellow travelers were able to get really good at it because they felt that it was right.

Instead of yoga in the morning there was dancing on the way. Instead of announced silence, there was suddenly music on the way. In the evening Maddo tells me why he had the impulse to turn up the music. He spoke about his observations and experiences. About the fact that most people are afraid of silence and after a while the thoughts about the negative circle. He saw this with some and sonicated us with the ultimate desert sound of Tinariwen. I laughed soundingly on my dromedar! Because it was the day on which I asked the group to be in silence until lunch ...

  • Again it turns differently than you think!
  • And that's a good thing!
  • Go with what is.
  • And dance at every occasion!

I have heard of groups who try to stubbornly adhere to a plan brought with me and to disregard the external circumstances. In the past, I sometimes felt the feeling of impatience from participants.
But I just let it happen and don't interfere.
People have to confront their own dissatisfaction
in order to be able to peel themselves out on their own. Only that brings change.
You don't need words and no request for this, nobody!

Ultimately, it is also about growing challenges, and they face differently for everyone!
They can come from the inside or be triggered by external circumstances.

Getting in the moment increases when practicing. And if that's there, there is a lot different.
Then suddenly ideas come from nowhere. Then perhaps suppressed topics appear that have been looking at for so long.

It continues, step by step, as in life, even if we sometimes do not recognize the path, we can learn to trust.

The magic and teaching of a sandstorm
Pack again every day
Talk to animals
Tier love and connectedness

We run in gyms to make our stomach and harden our center.
But there are far more pleasant methods to strengthen its middle.
We want to keep the same weight on bending and breaking the same weight, stress ourselves
and keep losing the fun of our body.

Femininity is also relaxing. Men like relaxed women.
And they like women who recognize their own value. Women who know about their uniqueness and take their place as queen. Women who are not dogmatic and can sometimes feast. This is beauty! This is how beauty works.

In our lap there is all the lives that we give birth, all the creative power, all the receiving, vendor and nourishing.

In the desert, I deliberately accompany women into these ancient teachings of body work and in the primeval dance of femininity.
An invitation to enjoy the body in a sensual way, to make friendship with the devastating self -evaluations that only lead to not feeling fulfilled. The paths go across the interior, whereby the dance helps enormously.
I am happy to ask my women to wear a lipstick and beautiful clothes in the middle of the desert.
To make up and to express yourself and to express your own appreciation. That "does" something with one!

We support feelings with music. We fill our breasts and pelvis with life and consciousness, and shake ourselves freely. Affirm and enjoy everything that wobbles. We learn to speak to the body and express ourselves instead of squeezing it into forms.

Dancing is everything a woman needs to free the energies enclosed in the body.
It is the primal force and spirituality of the woman. And that's what we do here in the desert.
We earth and create a new self -confidence for our femininity.

I know it sounds pretty strange when I say that
in a Muslim country, the woman gets into her female strength.

Why am I saying that?

We create a field that we forgot in our world. At home we are mothers, wives, business women and juggling with additional optimization craze between making, doing, giving, giving and the demands of the perfect woman placed on ourselves.

  • We have lost the magic of our femininity.
  • We continue to try to do everything, control, and we are no longer able to receive.
  • We run in yoga studios and are in the "warrior", keep the "position" here again and increasingly stiffen in the pool.
  • We no longer feel our sensuality, have forgotten to play and flirt with our breasts and hips.
  • There is hardly a trace of welcome and dedication.
  • We forgot how important it is that women have to be among themselves every now and then
to strengthen their strength and to connect and trust.

    Yes, but ...
yes, there is Machismo in Morocco, there is so much disturbing, and everything you hear and a lot you don't know.
I have been able to experience all facets firsthand, so that today I can move quite well between lug and fraud, honestly -minded people and open heart.

A man from the desert told a man from the West:
You forgot that the woman is the origin of all beings.
In women we appreciate the beginning of the world, the primeval mother of all life

Ameocal Alhavi

Here we women are so lovingly provided by the young nomads.

It is the way I imagine the relationship between man and woman:
the man holds and protects the woman.
The woman is like water in the bowl. In her emotions, sometimes playful, sometimes impulsive, etc.
It can feel safe and worn.
The man is so strong and can keep the woman in her emotions.
He honors her and recognizes being a woman with the awareness that it is the woman who born him.

It is the feeling of this natural order between man and woman, which we find out here.

In the culture of the nomads, the man is often on the move and the women are for themselves.
The men also have their own world, their own together.
Just as the women have.
I feel the strengthening for both genders.
So you can get together better afterwards.
My desert trips open this exchange.

This field is thirsty and it still takes a lot of refreshment!

Again and again I am so touched to feel how strong and unique our common field was
under the protection of these men.

The music of the nomads

From a certain point in time we have to choose our sleeping places. The sun goes down quickly, here in Africa. Every woman has her little tent or sleeps in the big tent. The best place to sleep is in the open air. But it also has to be decided before the stars rise in the sky. This evening ritual reminds me of the story from a book by Carlos Castaneda. There the protégé is asked by shaman to find its place. That has so much symbolic power. Find its place. Every day anew.

The nomads build their little cooking tent and cook tea for us.
Further away, you straighten the space for every evening.

When I get to the square, the tears take my eyes into my eyes! Everything is done with so much love!
A fire and surrounding around are large red carpets and lanterns were created from the plastic bottle waste
that transform the place into a magical field.
The meaning of the dignity, for beauty and details in the desert is unique to me.
We sit by the fire and let the conversations run wild. The fire arises.
In it the bread is baked for the evening and for the next morning.

After the gourmet meal, drumming and sung and clapping in time is clapped. Everything that is there serves as a drum,
from canisters to sounding glasses. We are gradually falling into a trance -like state that
leaves no space for cloudy thoughts. It increases, we slide together and the music and the rhythms of Africa have captivated us.

During the evenings, the last dam burst in the 4. Night. We are no longer a spectator, but in the middle.
We laugh so much. So much heart opening, so much love for all of us, ours. No matter what skin color, which language
we are powerful, understanding is always the laughing heart, music, dance, singing and fun games.

I have to get away briefly from the group because I have to cry. Cry because I almost don't stand this love.
I will already miss our small desert group!

I think this trip is really priceless! There are so many layers.
No conversation with a therapist will be able to help you feel life again!
So much liveliness is sparked, so much lust for life, maybe even new visions. We were also so lucky
to experience this date in the desert of March 21, 2023, where we
spent the turn of the time of human history in the new moon in the star-over-flooding descendant.

What a magic! The astrologer Silke Schäfer describes this time of mankind:

Since you appear during this time, your gifts also awaken others and give them strength. You know
if you feel: we are many. Use your gifts. The gifts of dance, singing, humor,
joy, love. By using your garden, you create the powerful wave of change.
You will overcome all limits of duality and split and
give birth to the miracle of unity and peace on earth.

Good night world!

The first stop is back in Mhamid near Omar. There we eat at noon, convert our suitcases
and go to a hammam into the village. I don't want to describe this now ... Hahaha!
And yet that was one of the most impressive experiences that we had together with the group. That remains our little secret and I know that we will always get a laughing fit when we think about it!
The experience was so surprisingly wonderful!

The journey continues for 2.5 hours to AGDZ, where we stay in a beautiful oasis.
The beauty becomes so much more aware of you.
All women have changed more or less. Some shine properly!
Go through the desert in a caravan together welds together.
We will always keep this adventure in our hearts!

The next day the last stage goes to Marrakech. There is still a little shopping there.
It is Ramadan and so suddenly the shops are closed in the evening.

I will miss this lively hustle and bustle!
And the happiness on the streets, the conversations with strangers.
Of course also our group of women and the desert people.

Back in Germany, the heart of the heart puts you in the face.
At the train station I perceive all the more as much unfriendliness and dissatisfaction here.
I feel what it has to be when a foreigner enters our country. Our empire Germany.

The question is: what makes wealth?

  1. Very impressive, as a man I get a little sad not to be there. But maybe there will soon be an exciting travel offer for us men? We also like to dance and make music.

  2. Dear Aditi!
That's exactly what I thought a few days ago! Why shouldn't men travel to the desert? So: there will also be a travel offer for men soon!
An offer for young people is also planned.
I'm already looking forward to dancing and making music with you in the desert!

  3. Dear nora,

Thank you for the wonderful travel description. Much reminds of Egypt (I stop wanting to organize everything ..., the sandstorm, warmth ...)

You describe everything so colorful and lively, I can see you in front of me - and I can fully recognize myself in your planned lack of planning 🙂 That really makes you want to come!

Your photos are so beautiful, the mood becomes really tangible. And every word speaks your enthusiasm and warmth - how beautiful!

  4. Yes, dear Astrid, that's why we have a connection! We have something to do with Sicily, love the Orient and the oriental dance! And I always want to go to Egypt with you !! Ischaallah! I'm happy if I can dance with you again!

  5. Dear nora,

I raised this article in myself as if I had been there.
    Your description deeply fulfills me.
I noticed that my frausin is so far away, but there is still the desire to live and feel it.
    Yes really.
And to let go of the fears.
Thank you very much, dear Nora.
I already love you now, even though we don't know each other personally.
    Inschallah….
I definitely want to get to know you.
    Kind regards
    Verooh

  6. Love Veronika,

Your touch touches me! Thanks for your enthusiasm! And yes, Inschallah, maybe next time you will come with ...

    Best regards!
    Nora
